(2016-2020) Originally brought onto the team to support the men’s division but soon took over both men’s and women’s. During the first year, I worked on building consistency within men’s and women’s, as well as cross functionally between the two categories so the brand could be more recognizable with the construction and overall aesthetic, since there was no logo. When I arrived, many styles that were resourced over the years were noticeably different in construction but never caught. I made sure design cards matched what we wanted to move forward with and adjusted construction to be the best functionally and cost efficient. In addition before I joined the team, patterns were not requested per round or at production. Having patterns in hand,  can help you evaluate the style and help see what the issues may be when reviewing on body. It also helps with resourcing styles. The new factory can use the previously approved pattern and when sent with a physical sample, to reference for construction, you should be able to approve the resourced sample in two rounds. During my time, I worked on many new silhouettes for the brand. One of the most notable silhouettes is the exercise dress which has been mimicked by many brands over the years. I also on-boarded many new factories for the brand. One factory had never worked on activewear before so I worked with the team/factory to understand what activewear needs and that the machines had to be adjusted accordingly to support the amount of stretch. This factory now has multiple active brands under them and most recently opened up a new factory.
